Before they leave our latitudes towards their african feeding grounds for the winter, swifts circle around the statue of Christopher Columbus in Barcelona. He is pointing his finger towards the sea, towards where he thought was the way to Asia going west. He looks totally helpless as swifts ignore him while drawing random paths into the air, perhaps a secret map?
